JOI Gaming Taps Trustly to Deliver Seamless Gaming in the Netherlands

Dutch Market – Europe’s Strictest?

All that in one of the strictest gambling markets in Europe, which, only last year, introduced rigid age-based monthly deposit limits. Players 18-25 have a limit of €300, while those 25 and above have a limit of €700. Those who breach the limits are in for mandatory checks. Only Germany, with its live game ban, €1,000 monthly deposit limit, and €1 slot bet limit, is considered more stringent, but it’s a toss-up.

Even more recently, Kansspelautoriteit (KSA), the Dutch regulatory body overseeing all gambling in the country, tightened the regulatory rope even further by requiring operators to submit detailed exit plans and even stricter compliance documents ahead of 2026, the time of renewal of the first 5-year licences issued in 2021. In other words, operators will have to chart exit plans in case their license is not renewed.

The KSA also stepped up its penalty game, like that time when it fined Unibet €450,000 for playing fast and loose with bonus advertising rules.
