Prediction markets are taking the gaming world by storm. The latest to join the bandwagon is MyPrize, effectively becoming the first sweepstakes casino to include prediction markets in its portfolio. That is, once they become available.

Through a partnership with Crypto.com, MyPrize will integrate prediction markets across sports, politics, and crypto, and roll it into its livestreaming platform.

What Are Prediction Markets?

Prediction markets are not new. Simply put, they allow participants to buy and sell contracts whose value depends on the outcome of future events.

For example, you might purchase a contract on whether a given sports team wins a championship or whether a particular political outcome happens. The odds are adjusted according to probability, and their worth only if you guessed correctly.

It is as if instead of betting on who wins the race, you’re essentially buying a piece of that outcome. If your pick happens, you get paid; if not, you’ve just contributed to someone else’s victory dance.

Traditional platforms in this space have offered markets on sports, economics, and short-term crypto outcomes. As for Crypto.com, current markets allow users to purchase daily contracts on the crude oil index value, the weekly US tech index value, and big-league sports events (NFL, NBA, Golf, Motorsport).

For example, on November 6, you can purchase:

  • Inflation Rate Results for October of 0.2% with 59% probability.
  • Fed Rate Cuts in 2025 to hit 75 bps with 68% probability.
  • US Tech 100 Index Value (DEC) to be $26,112 with 24% probability.
  • ALA to be the SEC Championship Game Winner with 44% probability.
  • Arsenal to win the Premier League with 65% probability.

You can also bet against these outcomes, buy contracts on tech stocks, golf tournaments, or motorsport finishes, all while watching markets react in real time.

Hollywood, Trump, and now MyPrize

Turns out, everyone wants a piece of this prediction pie. Barely 24 hours prior to the MyPrize announcement, Hollywood.com broke the silence about its deal with Crypto.com. Under that deal, the company will allow users to trade contracts tied to movies, TV shows, pop stars and award-show winners, adding a pop culture flavor to the new endeavor.

Then there’s Donald Trump’s Truth Social, entering the prediction-market arena via its Truth Predict product developed in partnership with, you’ve guessed it, Crypto.com. Users will be able to trade predictions on political elections, interest rate changes, commodities such as gold and crude oil, and major sports events.

And now MyPrize. As a sweepstakes platform with a wide reach and expert experience in online betting, it is bound to come up with ways to engage players and punters in new ways. When MyPrize’s CEO, Zach Bruch, says they’re hellbent on “delivering fun and engaging experiences for our players and bringing major enhancements to the social, livestreaming content, and community engagement,” we are inclined to believe him.

Final Take

But the buck doesn’t stop with MyPrize. Soon, every other sweepstake or crypto gambling platform will be looking at the prediction markets sector as it expands beyond niche participants into mainstream entertainment, social media, and casual gaming.

What used to be a niche corner of crypto speculation is now rubbing elbows with movie buffs, sports fans, and social streamers. And who knows? Maybe soon you’ll be predicting the next celebrity breakup or crypto moonshot while spinning your favorite slot.

Either way, there are still raging questions about whether this trend becomes sustainable, particularly if too many players flood the market. But one thing is clear: MyPrize adding prediction markets to its bag of tricks means that the lines between gaming, social interaction and market speculation are becoming ever more blurred.
